Trout Fishing in Scotland

We have three fibre glass boats in the boat house on Loch Monzievaird which are available from £10 per day each. We also have access to a lovely beat on the River Earn which is less than a mile away. The trout season runs from the 13th of March to the 6th of October.

The loch is not stocked, but holds a good head of Brook Trout that spawn in one of the feeder burns. The best months are April, May, and June, - traditional wet flies. Lifejackets are supplied.

Fishing on the Loch is from boat only. In exceptional circumstances we can arrange bank fishing, but would first recommend : Trout fishing on the River Earn, with clear banks and good picnic places, less than a mile from the grounds at Monzievaird. There are also many other lochs in the area.

The River Earn also has a good autumn run of salmon. Spring salmon fishing can be arranged on Loch Tay and on the River Tay. In general fishing can be arranged to suit most requirements, depending on the time of year. Salmon fishing must be booked in advance. Salmon and Trout Association casting instruction (STANIC) is available in the grounds of Monzievaird.
